Be cautious of getting service dogs from out of your state. It can be challenging, not having the right support system for follow up training in your area can not only ruin a dog but it can also effect how the dog performs for the new handler. If you choose to make sure you have a local trainer to support you and train with you. Many trainers will accommodate you for a small fee. Make sure your dog is fully vetted before it leaves the state in which it has been residing and to include all and any vaccinations and testings it has had. Another advantage to having a local trained service dog continuity of training and if you don't end up working well with your new K9 you can voice your concern with your trainer and most likely find another match.
